Press Release Body = LOS ANGELES, CA-July 26, 2007: Democracy, Declaring Our Power - How the Law of Attraction Applies to Society and Democracy (ISBN 9781604024432) is a new book that intertwines the historical roots of democracy with the empowering concepts of the law of attraction. According to author and Presidential candidate Roland Aranjo, "democracy at the most fundamental level is the demos, the people and cracy, empowered or the people empowered and democracy is fundamental to all other issues."
A March 2007 AP poll found that 75% of Americans believe the United States federal government is moving in the wrong direction. "The majority of Americans are losing faith in our democratic institutions, it is time for us to provide a positive vision and leadership for our national democracy," stated Aranjo.
Through applying of the universal law of attraction, Democracy Declaring Our Power discusses how government eventually benefits those who focus on it. For instance in the United States, the special interests have focused their resources on democracy, financing campaigns and lobbyists. Thus, according to Aranjo the federal government is now serving their interests. To revive democracy, the book proposes an alternative vision of democracy which includes: one person one vote for President, national initiative process, Democracy Day Holiday, lobbying reform, preferential voting, public financing of elections, media democracy, multi-party ballot access and the creation of an internet based Citizen's E-Legislature. Aranjo stated, "Let's attract a revived democracy. Let's believe, conceive and achieve it starting today."
On June 20, 2007, in Nashville Tennessee in front of the Parthenon, democracy's birthplace, Roland Aranjo declared his candidacy as the Democratic Party's nominee for President on a democracy platform and Democracy Revival Pledge. "Americans have the power to revive democracy. It is time for us to re-envision our democracy as a more perfect union, sustained by the unifying values of equality, justice, responsibility, compassion and service," proclaimed candidate Aranjo.
Starting in mid-August, Roland Aranjo will be the only Presidential candidate to travel to all fifty states and Native American Nations. He will be participating in local democracy discussions as part of a national Democracy Revival Tour. "It is time for us to come together to have a heart to heart discussion about our democracy and to find what unites us as Americans," Aranjo said.
Roland Aranjo is a native of Denver, Colorado and a graduate of the University of Colorado in Political Science. He has been actively involved in political campaigns, union organizing, local commissions, democracy reform groups and government service for the past twenty-eight years throughout the Southwest. As a campaign consultant for the last six years, Aranjo has extensive first hand experience of the American political and electoral process.
